Synopsis
It was the first time that Marc Parchow Figueiredo, an illustrator with Qual Albatroz, visited India. Parchow comes from his mother’s side, who is German, and Figueiredo from his father’s side, who is Portuguese. Marc, more than just an illustrator, experiences the book as an object to the extent of creating handmade books, as for him, a book is more than just a story. In New Delhi, Marc interacted with several children aged 10 to 12 through a series of drawing workshops to cultivate an interest in illustration and encourage them to draw every day. His visit to India was made possible by an invitation from the children’s literary festival Bookaroo and was supported by the Portuguese Embassy and the Camões Institute in New Delhi.
