Maria Meireles first came to Goa in 2018 and ended up marrying here. She then returned to Portugal in 2020, but visited Goa again (2022) for a series of concerts dedicated to Santiago Lusardi Girelli – famed maestro of the Goa University Choir, who died last May (2021). Even though the pandemic was on, Maria and her choir resolutely managed to put up 5 concerts.
