Synopsis
The Fundação Oriente organized a Portuguese-language competition for the first time, aimed at secondary school students, encouraging them to study the language of Camões. As a prize, it offered a trip for four students to Portugal for an educational visit, accompanied by their Portuguese teacher. This trip was supported by Casa de Goa, the Hindu Community, Colégio Guadalupe, Sporting Clube de Coimbrões, and the Gaia City Council. Through this initiative, Fundação Oriente was able to create a cultural bridge between the students and Portugal, encouraging them to deepen their study of the Portuguese language and experience Portugal’s cultural roots and traditions firsthand. The competition reinforced the importance of language as a link between nations and cultures, demonstrating the transformative impact that education can have on young people’s personal and academic development.
