Marco Teixeira began his career in the Public Security Police but quickly moved up to the United Nations. He is currently the regional representative of the UNODC and is responsible for six countries in South Asia: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and the Maldives. His work involves extensive travel, collaborating with local governments to address issues related to security, counter-terrorism, the reduction of psychoactive substance use, strengthening criminal justice systems, and responses to crime.
